Privacy screen calculator

Calculate how much privacy screening you need.

First select the fence height, then the width of one panel and finally the number of panels. The calculator immediately shows how many strips and rolls are required for a fully covered fence.

The calculation includes a 5 cm cutting allowance per row. A 2.0 metre panel therefore requires a 2.05 metre cut, while a 2.5 metre panel requires 2.55 metres. Gates, shortened panels, cut-outs and special weaving patterns should be calculated separately.

All questions in the knowledge section →
How much privacy screening do I need?

The amount results from occupied rows, cutting length per field and number of fields. The privacy screen strips calculator supports the planning.

Determine requirements with the computer →
How do I calculate the required length?

Multiply the number of rows occupied with the cutting length per field and the number of the same fields. Gates, corners and shortened fields must be taken into account separately.

How many rows does my fence have?

Count the horizontal spaces that are actually to be occupied. The number of rows depends on mat height and construction.

How much allowance is required?

The necessary addition depends on field measurement, completion and product. The zaun|zu® calculator takes 5 cm into account as a planning aid per strip; before cutting the actual dimensions must be checked.

What is the difference between roll goods and single strips?

Individual strips are pre-cut to a specific length. Rolls allow flexible cutting and can be useful for several fence panels or differing panel dimensions. Which option is more suitable depends on the fence dimensions, product and planning; neither rolls nor individual strips are inherently better, cheaper or higher quality.
